Basic information
Bachelor’s study of history is realized as a single-subject study plan (as full-time and combined study) or as a double-subject study plan (full-time study) at the Faculty of Arts of MU.
Apart from subject courses (codes HIAb, HIB), history students of full-time Bachelor’s study of history are required to pass the so-called common base courses (it is one course from the Academic courses of Faculty of Arts MU, philosophy, world language and physical education in full-time study; philosophy and world language in combined study).
Beside the exam from the world language according to their choice, students of history are required to pass an exam in German language as part of compulsory courses. If they enrol in German language as the world language (within courses offered by the Language Centre MU) or if they pass the exam within different study plan which offers it (e.g. archival studies, ethnology), the exam will be recognized for history as well. Those students and students of double-subject study of history and German language will enrol in adequate number of selective courses instead of German language (codes HIB in overall value of 4 credits).
The study is concluded with a Bachelor’s state exam which demonstrates the students' knowledge of history of Czech lands, Czechoslovakia and Czech Republic and general history from the Middle Ages to the present day, basic orientation in historiography and their acquirement of basic principles of history.
